In accordance to this PR article made by Apple Inc., they've sold their one millionth iPhone. So congrats to them!
"
CUPERTINO, California—September 10, 2007—Apple® today announced it sold its one millionth iPhone™ yesterday, just 74 days after its introduction on June 29. iPhone combines three devices into one—a mobile phone, a widescreen iPod®, and the best mobile Internet device ever—all based on Apple’s revolutionary multi-touch interface and pioneering software that allows users to control iPhone with just a tap, flick or pinch of their fingers.
“One million iPhones in 74 days—it took almost two years to achieve this milestone with iPod,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We can’t wait to get this revolutionary product into the hands of even more customers this holiday season.”
Apple ignited the personal computer revolution in the 1970s with the Apple II and reinvented the personal computer in the 1980s with the Macintosh. Today, Apple continues to lead the industry in innovation with its award-winning computers, OS X operating system and iLife and professional applications. Apple is also spearheading the digital media revolution with its iPod portable music and video players and iTunes online store, and has entered the mobile phone market this year with its revolutionary iPhone."
So it looks like Apple is on track for ten million iPhones sold by the end of 2008. Hopefully by then, all of the haters will be quiet and realize that the iPhone is not just full of hype.

In other iPhone news, it looks like that people are actually complaining of the $200 off from the iPhone. Now I could understand that if you just bought it a week before it was announced, then yeah, I could understand you could be angry, but the people that are complaining that you were ripped off when you bought it at launch, then..well, you should have expected the price drop around holiday season. I did, even when I bought two. One for my wife, and one for myself. Steve Jobs said it the best and correct way he should have said it.
"Second, being in technology for 30+ years I can attest to the fact that the technology road is bumpy. There is always change and improvement, and there is always someone who bought a product before a particular cutoff date and misses the new price or the new operating system or the new whatever. This is life in the technology lane. If you always wait for the next price cut or to buy the new improved model, you'll never buy any technology product because there is always something better and less expensive on the horizon. The good news is that if you buy products from companies that support them well, like Apple tries to do, you will receive years of useful and satisfying service from them even as newer models are introduced."
There is an example of why we love/hate Steve Jobs. He can be nice to be around at one point, and then become snarky but still come off as a nice guy (Except for in the early days of Apple, when he would just flip out, which I was back when I was younger, and I still am to this day.)
But iWhiners, you'll be getting $100 at Apple Stores and on the Online store. Meaning Leopard will be $29, or a free Shuffle or a very cheap Nano, but no, you still complain. Don't you understand that other companies wouldn't even offer $25, let alone $100! Apple is giving half of your money back, which is a great point for consumers, and for them.
But better off for me since I'll be getting $200 back, meaning if Leopard comes in a family pack like iLife/iWork 08', I'll be getting a family pack of Leopard.
Neener, Neener, Neener.
So Apple has announced the new iPod, the new iPod Nano, new iPod Shuffle, and guess what.. THE IPOD TOUCH! So what? This means that Apple now has downloadable songs for both the iPod Touch and the iPhone. So now, the Zune has lost the only feature that might have brought customers, not that the Zune had more than three customers. Now on to get you guys an iGasm.
iPod Classic:
So the old iPod is still around, so people not ready for the new age in technology can still use the click wheel for now. Still the same shape, just now in 160 GB, something that could decide in iPod, iPod Touch and the iPhone.
iPod Touch:
So the new iPod, the new iPod Touch. It's basically the iPhone without the iPhone. Looks like it has Safari, so it does have Wi-Fi. Plus you can download songs directly from it, as with the iPhone. Hello new iPod, meet your brother iPhone.
The iPhone
So the iPhone now will be getting ringtones, and be able to download songs to it directly (Like I said a few seconds ago..) It now only comes in the 8 GB so 4 GB is now gone. It's now $400, which is duh, $200 dollars off the old price. Still no word on the fixes that it deserves.

Now onto well the reviews I've promised.
I'll be getting ready to post reviews of the iPod Touch, iPhone, and the iMac, Mac Pro and when it comes out, Leopard.
GoTechGeeks is getting a new logo designed at the office, and I've almost gotten up the nerve to ask my friend, Sascha Lopez to design it, but he's busy working on Leo Laporte's Tech Guy site and hunting Unicorns. The office is almost built to where we won't have to be fixing it every week, and so we have the break room, the recording studio, the offices, the review lab and the Server area. More details about that from Stephen when he gets on AIM and I can notify him to post something new on the decaying blog.
Oh and expect one more thing from that post.
So since digg has a new design, I thought I would just post a picture of it, so here it is.
The new design is nice and clean, but the empty space in between the digg logo is pretty distracting. I like the new layout of the "comments/email/favorite/ user" and I like how it shows the original site before the description. Overall I'd give digg 4.0 a 4/5 because the comments are still bad enough it can give OS X and Linux a headache, oh and Microsoft is going to serve the ads soon.

Back to a normal post that isn't about digg, I'm really hoping Apple does something big with the Mac line since the iMac looks so fresh (I'm using the new 24" iMac as we speak..and it's actually better than Leo Laporte's iMac!). I'm hoping that they make the Mac Mini's have the same outside border that is silver and make the now white part black to tie-in with the new design. Speaking of desktops, I also hope Apple brings back the pimp cube Mac Cube and makes the inside black glass/aluminum instead of keeping the silver that is what is on it now. On the notebook side of things, I'm guessing that Apple will make the iBook the new "ultra-portable" notebook and makes that 12-13" and makes the Macbook 14.5" and the Macbook Pro's 16-18". That would likely end the bickering from PC users that they'd need to buy the Mac Pro to get a customizable desktop. The costs would be; Mac Mini: $600-$1000, Mac Cube: $1,600-1,700, iBook: $500-600, Same prices as now plus $100 for the new Macbooks and Macbook Pros.
I haven't really used my Macbook lately, since I've been using my Macbook Pro more often as my main notebook, I've decided to make my Macbook my around the house notebook. I haven't installed iLife/iWork 08' on it yet, so this is from today waiting for me to update my Macbook with iLife/iWork.
So yeah, remember this post I made about new iMacs? Well it turned out to be true. I'm on it right now as we speak in my newly built "tech room". Here's the Ad about the new iMacs:
Yes, I did upload that, I just love self-advertisements!
Now onto the new iLife and iWork. The new iLife is superb. It is a huge improvement from iLife 06'. Why you may ask? Well iPhoto now has an ability to organize by events meaning even more ways to organize all of your photos. If you have an .Mac account (Which I am tempted to get..since it gets better and better every version) you can make an online photo gallery which is nice and simple to navigate. More ways to edit the photos which will help me in a huge way. Unified search, new "theme-based home printing" which makes printing out multiple photos easier and more unified (Unified must be the new thing Apple is aiming for now, since the iMacs are like the iPhone and the iPod will probably be like the iPhone this time around). Garageband has a new feature to lead the bass, or the drums or melody in your own tune. iWeb now has "web widgets" like the new iTunes widgets, Google Adsense and Maps are now available and advanced photo pages of up to 500 photos per an album.
So far that is all I've been able to use since I got it on Saturday. So nothing on new iMovie (Which I hear sucks like Paris Hilton), iDvd, .Mac Web Gallery or iWork. More coming this week or next, just like my iPhone review (Better late than never, and plus a lot has happened to it in the Hacking community and the updates gave us a surprise but not what I was really looking for..) and the new iMac, Mac Pro and *ahem*..Vista review (If Thurrott could see it, he'd be like me to his OS X review).
To Google Analytics!
Ever since I put Google Analylics on here, I forgot to mention I'll be doing Monthly reports (Oh no, I'm turning into those lonely bloggers bragging about getting 4 hits, WRONG! I'll be complaining..as always). Well here's the first GOOGLE ANALYTICS BULLSHIT POST! (Sponsored by Google Analytcs).

Yeah...Damn."
So yeah..on August 5th, 2006 I signed up for vox and I posted my first post on here. It wasn't my first blog, oh no. It is my general blog and will be until I finally get my Drupal site up (http://ZayneHumphrey.com/ which is my Tumblr blog as we speak), and I will link to this blog and my other few blogs I can find. So happy birthday ZayneHumphrey.vox.com.
My design was the San Francisco skyline and I will switch to it right now. Just until Saturday..
The first post (Wow this sucks):
Well I am finally on Vox. I used to have a Typepad blog, but I canceled it. After messing around with the features here on Vox. it's clearly ahead of it's time..which is a great thing. Right now I'm typing on my new Macbook Pro, which is only for office use, and word documents.I'm going to go to Leo Laporte's blog and comment on a few posts of his.
Thanks LongLiveTechtv.
Wow, I had to edit that so that it would make sense (I used to drink at least 3 times a week, before I was married and it showed in many of my posts).
Apple Keynote follow up will come from me today..after I get home..
Yeah so Apple sent out a email and mail to people in the media and they are going to announce a new Mac, well since the iMac really hasn't been updated in the past two years, people are guessing that the iMac will be redesigned. Some say multi-touch will be on it. Some say it will be in the style of the Mac Pro, and some of us think it will be like the iPhone.
Here's a concept video from a fan..and it looks awesome.
This better be what Apple announces on the 7th.. I mean the design flows well with the iPhone, the iPod is supposedly going to be multitouch and it will probably look like this. Now the Mac Mini Cube (Please Apple..the Mini and the Cube all in one) could have the black glossy sheen, and the Mac Pro would be OK as it is.
Still, if you say "Well what about no keyboard and mouse and the screen would get all smugey and I would get tired." Well Apple will probably make it so that it "folds" down into a tablet position (The back base/henge could slide down and make a 30/40 degree angle so you could do Photoshop designs.)
Still this is a concept, but a guy can dream...

So since GTGTV is coming (Although I'm having my doubts..and I am thinking of doing another thing..) I am thinking of a concept for another Netcast. I mean we will have a operating system netcast, a Machinama series, and a netcast about ranting, and don't forget the hacking podcast..I'm starting to doubt we will get even a few listeners. Plus I listen to TWiT at work, and I don't want to ride the Netcast wave because it is a "easy" thing to do. Plus people will comment that we are ripping off them or TWiT. Yet, since we have three confirmed netcasts (OSSides, ShadowLife, and FoxHole) and a Machination series (Damnednation, which is a curse I would always say in Halo 1 because of the map Damnnation) I want to do another one about Gaming..but hell it would just be like OSSides since there are three game consoles out and a fourth one coming soon (Xbox 360, Wii and PS3, and the one console that is a joke on Digg but it is still funny as hell...) And since we don't know any professional gamers we can't really get one..we could always put out 1up Yours and EGM Live* when they come out..but we don't want to be sued...so fuck.
i just love making fun of Apple's blatant use of the lower case "i." So I got the iPhone, and from just feeling it and using it for a short time to put in my contacts I can say that it so far is perfect, but then again I've only played with it for a few minutes. So since my camera broke since I was tossing it around (More like swinging it around during taking photos of my cats) and it landed in the grass battery side down I can't put in batteries or they don't accept them. I've been trying to see if it is a internal error or if the springs don't work or are de-attached...so no photos of my iPhone or my iShirt yet..and I had pictures of many of the trips Kacie and I were on and the cats, and possibly a photo of myself (which is odd since I have a motto which is "Why the fuck do you want to see me? Do you want to masturbate to me? Pervert..") So yeah.. it's my camera taking the photos..or the iSight in my Macbook (Not my Pro since I use my Macbook to take iSight photos since it is smaller) so you'll have to wait for photos of the best phone ever made and the best t-shirt ever made..so yeah.. it's my fault for being horrible with my camera (I can't take decent photos, but my Aunt tought me to take pictures with a film roll camera back in the 80's when I was just a wee child) and actually trying to take pictures with my iSight..
(Coming soon, a dart game with my face as the bullseye, I'm sure those assholes at Gaming.Word will really enjoy that since they hate me with a passion)
The links to the newest info about the iPhone and Leopard.
BSOD when file sharing with Leopard and Windows
Apple introduces iPop, a unwelcomed new feature for 10.4.10
Starting off, lets talk about the iPhone supporting Word and Excel documents. It really isn't a big surprise since the iPhone really is a computer inside a phone, or really OS X in a phone. It also looks like Gmail is available, which is great since Gmail is better than Yahoo Mail by about 10 years.
Now moving on to the 5 videos of Leopard, has anyone else noticed how cool Leopard is? You have all of this zany shit happening in front of you in less than 10 seconds! I can't wait till October so I can Camp out and then make noises while "Stacking." Zooooooooonnnnnnmmmmmmg!
When I first saw this picture I first laughed as hard as I did when I saw Balmer's lips being on the WWDC screen a few weeks ago. So I guess Leopard will pull a prank on Windows PCs, excellent for a Mac/Linux user with a Windows only wife! EXCELLENT! MWHHHAHAHAHAHAHHA!
Moving on to stress testing the iPhone, it looks like it has undergone many tweaks and will be able to be dropped? Well that is interesting, boy! I want to drop mah Iphone surrrrre weeee.
Finally in this very long blog post, I am going to talk about the "iPop" that has plagued many users. I myself haven't experienced this, and hopefully not since I have the new Mac Pro, the new Macbook Pro and Macbook. I wouldn't want to hear a pop when listening to my music. (Thanks to a certain friend of mine who supplies me with the "money" so I can "get" the said "legal" music.) Hopefully Apple will release a hardware update so that it will stop, or a fix for it.
I'll be back to blogging as soon as I can finish drawing the design of the new Netcast site and get Ray to help me with the design of the Smells Like B3t@ side-quest site. Until then, have fun watching me play with my iPhone and have a mental and optical orgy with the videos of Leopard.
Everyone in the Apple community can at least agree on one thing..well maybe 5 or 6, but the newest one is that this years WWDC was lackluster. Sure Safari on Windows is great, but if you can't get everyone on OS X to use it, why try to claim it is the best browser out there? Also going after Firefox isn't a good thing, I mean choice is good, that is what you've been saying, but trying to have Apple's browser against Microsoft's isn't the Apple way. iPhone details were ok, I mean they weren't great but they helped the keynote be long. My major complaint, as with TUAW's is that Apple can't innovate anymore on the most mature OS out there. Apple will need to just fix the bugs, fix any problems there might be in Leopard and then fix small problems, like not being able to make the window any bigger! All in all, this means that Apple has made the most mature OS out there, but if they can innovate until OS XI then great, if not then it will just be bug squishing to do until then.
The 5-6 things the Apple community can agree on is follows:
- Apple is the best computer hardware company available.
- OS X is the best OS out there
- OS X is the best looking (Beside of Any Linux distro with beryl) OS out there,
- Vista sucks
- Microsoft sucks
- Microsoft copies us and Linux every WWDC and release of every distro
- WHY DID MICROSOFT TAKE BUNGIE?! WHY! WHY?!?!?!!!
